Summer START is designed to assist new freshmen with the transition from high school to college through five weeks of academic courses and co-curricular activities. Summer START will provide a strong introduction to the culture of NC State and to the city of Raleigh. Summer START’s living and learning experience will be limited to 400 freshmen. Last year's program represented students from 8 different countries, 11 different states and spread across 40 different majors representing all 10 colleges at NC State. Summer START works closely with each college to ensure students will be enrolled in academic courses towards their curriculum to get them on the path to graduation. In addition to up to eight credit hours of university coursework, many optional co-curricular, college based, leadership, and service programs are planned throughout the week and on the weekends. This is your chance to “Get Ahead of the Pack.” Summer START takes place during Summer Session II. Students live in on campus housing central to classes and student services buildings. If you are interested in participating, please be sure to complete an interest form. Students will be selected from those who respond to this invitation on a first come first served basis. Replies must be received by May 1, 2016 through our online interest form.
